2015-04-24 – A Musical History of Sergio Mendes

sergio mendes Sergio Mendes started playing in Brazilian nightclubs in the late 1950s, just as bossa nova was being born of its famous parents, jazz and samba. So Sergio and bossa grew up together, and they’re still going — Mendes is on tour now, playing at Seattle’s Jazz Alley 23-26 April. This show will be a celebration of his music, with lots of Sergio’s covers and collaborations mixed in. Plus new releases and other global fun.
