Show Notes: Jonas Hellborg provided some great thoughts, including music as a language and as a unifying force in a divisive world. He spoke from his New York apartment, and the traffic and street noises in the background reminded me how loud big cities can get. Quite a difference from the quiet, forested surroundings of KAOS.

I received several requests by email for this show, and I failed to find two of them: Toure Kunda's "Nanam" and Baaba Maal's "Mariama." I thought I had the latter, since it appears on the 3-CD compilation African Never Stand Still, which is in the KAOS library; but CD 2, which contains that track, was missing. Sigh. Thanks to Araceli Tzigane Sánches of Madrid for hooking me up with the Sephardic band Barahúnda.
