Show Notes: Having interviewed Djelimady Tounkara himself and having met the band last year when they played in Olympia, it was a delight talking with Bamba Dembele this time around. The buoyant, beer-loving spokesman for the band, Bamba is enthusiastic about music and about educating people on African culture. And there's no better time for that than now, with the array of artists in the area this month: Djelimady, Stella Chiweshe, Oliver Mtukudzi, Fallou Dieng...the list goes on.

# Our cover songs of the week were versions of two Brazilian classics. Bab & Rolando 808 (aka Rolando Farias and DJ Alioume Ba) have an electronica-edged version of Jorge Ben's "Mas Que Nada." And Scottish-Brazilian group Mac Umba provided a bagpipe-flavored take on the classic "Asa Branca."
