Music of Senegal + new releases

Show Notes:
This week's show featured music from Senegal. Well, some music from Senegal. The country has such a rich musical tradition that much is inevitably left out, but we heard some of the big-band sounds, some hiphop, various drumming styles, some griot-rooted praise singing, some Afro-Latin music. We heard several cuts from Orchestra Baobab, who will be in Seattle next week (congrats to the Spin the Globe listeners who won tickets!).

# Our cover song of the week was Wasis Diop's interpretation of the Talking Heads' classic "Once in a Lifetime." Also a cover is The Pleb's "One for Senegal," an interpretation of Toure Kunda's "Amadou Tilo."
