from Senegal. The country has such a rich musical tradition
that much is inevitably left out, but we heard some of
the big-band sounds, some hiphop, various drumming styles,
some griot-rooted praise singing, some Afro-Latin music.
We heard several cuts from Orchestra Baobab, who will be
in Seattle next week (congrats to the Spin the Globe listeners
who won tickets!).
Our cover song of the week was Wasis Diop's interpretation
of the Talking Heads' classic "Once in a Lifetime." Also a cover
