Spin the Globe World Music

Spin the Globe Playlist for 22 April 2005
Procession Tunes, Neo-Passover Music, New Releases & Requests

* = Specific listener request/response

Show Notes: Spin the Globe swung into the spirit with music celebrating Olympia's Procession of the Species (23 April), the most organic parade ever. Lots of rhythm, samba, and more. Also a number of requests and new releases found their way into the mix. Included was a tune from the brand new Omar Torrez CD, Dynamisto!, a tune from the new Zuba (Afro-Scottish) CD Allez!, accordeon tango by Svang, Hasidic reggae from Matisyahu, and a selection from the hiphop So Called Seder. And of course some Baka Beyond, since they'll be playing in Olympia April 23. Plus a preview of next week's Cover the Earth, when I'll be guest-hosting and playing, among other things, a live concert recording by Dutch-Brazilian band Electro Coco.

Most of the music played on Spin the Globe is available at cdRoots.com or CD Universe or the calabash.
