We went to the top of the world today, featuring music from the tallest countries on earth. And we explored different ways of defining "tallest."

In case you were still wondering, the highest countries (and their distinguishing peaks) are:

  • Equador: Chimborazo (farthest from the center of the Earth) – 20,561 ft (6,267m)
  • USA-Hawaii: Mauna Kea – 33,476 ft (10,203m)
  • Nepal/Tibet: Mount Everest (highest above sea level) – 29,028 ft (8,848m)
  • Pakistan: K2 - 28,251 ft (8,611m)
  • Nepal/India: Kangchenjunga – 28,169 ft (8,586m)
  • China/Nepal: Xixabangma Feng (Gosainthan) – 26,286 ft (8012m)
  • Bhutan: Kula Kangri - 24,780 ft (7,553m)
  • Tadjikistan: Qullai Kommunizma - 24,590 ft (7495m)
  • Afghanistan: Nowshak - 24.557 ft (7485m)
