If one should desire to know whether a kingdom is well governed, or if its morals are good or bad, the quality of its music will furnish the answer.

A rhythmic welcome to 2006 on Spin the Globe this week, with live in-studio Afro-Cuban drumming by Chicago's Joe Frost, and Olympia's own Scott Nicolow. Frost is also an accomplished visual artist, creating amazing reproductions of fossils and Egyptian tomb carvings (click images at right for larger views). He promises a website soon; in the meantime, you can contact him at jwfrost-art@excite.com
